 About CSS

Trinity's collaborative art studio began serving artists and those interested in developing their creativity in October 2006. The studio is run by Helen Stone, Artistic Spiritual Director, Jackie Locantore, Fine Artist & Teacher and Margot Walbourne, Artistic Administrator.

Covenant Sanctuary Studio is a community open to all individuals who wish to explore the concept of creativity and to practice or learn about art. Our creator, God, has made us in His image and thus we are each creative by nature. We learn to tap into our own creative gifts with the encouragement of other freely expressive artists.

Teens and adults are welcome to participate, observe, inquire about or teach an art or craft at our studio. This is a ministry of Trinity Covenant Church and although there is no registration fee or required attendance we greatly appreciate a suggested weekly donation of $2 to maintain basic studio operating expenses.

The studio is stocked with many art supplies. Bring your own supplies & equipment or use the studio's to explore a new craft / art or to teach one. On the first and third Mondays of the month we feature a studio artist in a show and tell setting with a project in progress or a completed piece.

The name, Covenant Sanctuary Studio was born in the hope, belief and dream of creating a safe haven for people to come and explore their own creativity. Covenant Sanctuary Studio was conceived in the belief that art can be healing and restorative and that we grow emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically when we become part of a supportive community. The word Covenant reflects our relationship with the Father and Creator of the universe. The Church is called to be a Sanctuary which offers peace and a sense of belonging in fellowship with each other & God. Thus the purpose of Covenant Sanctuary Studio is to build a community of people, who are willing to explore and develop their unique creative gifts given by God, the Father of light and life, in an atmosphere of non-judgment.
